Milarche Yuva Milan “We cannot always build the future for our youth but we can always build our youth for the future” -Franklin Roosevelt

With the intention of building the youth of the parish, Milagres Youth affiliated to ICYM, organized a half day programme filled with fun, fellowship and food on Sunday , 28 July at the Milagres Degree College Auditorium for the youth of Milagres Church. About 70-odd youth were present for the function.

After breakfast, the programme began with a prayer song. President of Milagres Youth, Miss Samantha Sequeira welcomed the gathering. Fr. Joseph Lobo, Parish Priest and Director of Milagres Youth, Fr. Anil Pinto, Asst. parish priest and asst. Director of Milagres Youth, Mr. Eugene Dcunha, resource person, Mrs. Cecilia Pereira, Vice President of Parish Council and Mr. Deepak Dcunha, Secretary of Parish Council, kick-started the programme in a unique way by watering a plant.

Fr. Joseph Lobo addressed the youth and said he was pleased to see such a large number. He also shared his joy and passion for working with young minds. Treasurer Miss Anna Crasta presented the report of activities conducted and Secretary Miss Olinda Fernandes gave the vote of thanks.  The inauguration was followed by Ice breakers.

The resource person Mr. Eugene Dcunha, a renowned speaker by passion and lawyer by profession delivered a motivational talk on the role of Catholic youth and the need to take part in church activities.

Following this, Fr. Anil Pinto listed out the activities planned for the year and asked support from the youth. Fr. Kenneth Crasta, Principal of St.Joseph’s ITI College, conducted games that involved working as a team.

The programme ended with the Holy Mass celebrated by Fr Joseph Lobo and co-celebrants Fr Anil Pinto and Fr Maxim Dsouza, Head Master of Milagres High School. All’s well that ends well and this beautiful half day programme ended with a delicious lunch and the most loved baila.
