SUNDAY CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS – 14/04/2019

 

  1. Palm Sunday:

Tomorrow/today  we begin the Holy Week with the blessing of Palms.

The Palms will be blessed in the Milagres Jubilee Hall at 7.00a.m. and thereafter the procession will follow to the                     church with Palms.  Kindly assemble in front of the Jubilee Hall on time.

Tomorrow/today after the evening 5.00 p.m. Mass there will be a Procession carrying the Statues of Our Lord and                  Blessed Mother reminding the Passion of Christ. The statues will be carried by the youth of our Parish.  We request                you to join this Procession.

Kindly note tomorrow the morning English Mass will be at 8.30a.m.

  1. The Holy Week Programme in our Parish as follows:

Maundy Thursday– Masses: 5.00p.m. in English

7.00p.m. the Solemn Ceremony of the Last Supper in the open air ground

After the Mass there will be Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

Offertory Collection: Priest’s Aid Fund

Kindly park your Vehicles in the Milagres School Grounds.

Good Friday-Way of the Cross – 7.00a.m. in Konkani-open air

12.00 noon in English inside the church

5.45p.m. Celebration of the Lord’s Passion in the open air ground.

Good Friday, the faithful are advised to visit the Blessed Sacrament and meditate the Passion of Christ.    Adoration is in silence. It is a day of fasting and abstinence.

After the Liturgical service, there will be a Procession carrying the Body of Christ and the Statue of Mother Mary. All are requested to join the Procession with lit Candles in their hand.  You may donate Jasmine Flowers to decorate the body of Christ on Good Friday morning.

         Offertory collection: Holy Land 

Holy Saturday–  7.00p.m. Easter Vigil. Solemn Ceremony in the open air.

You are requested to bring Candles for the Easter Vigil Mass and for the renewal of Baptismal Vows.

Easter Sunday             Holy Masses:  6.00a.m., 7.00a.m., 8.15a.m., 9.30a.m. & 5.00p.m

Volunteers are required to arrange the Chairs on Maundy Thursday.  Kindly report at 7.30a.m. at the Church Office.               Gurkars are requested to organize the Volunteers.

  1. Lenten Confession: Confessors will be available at the Confessional on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday, 15th, 16th, 17th , from 9.00a.m. to 12.00noon, 3.00p.m to 5.30p.m
  1. Feast of Divine Mercy: will be celebrated on Sunday, 28th April during 9.30a.m. Mass.  The Novena Prayers will begin from next Sunday, 21st  April at 4.30p.m. On Monday, 22nd April to Friday 26th April the Novena will be at 5.30p.m. followed by Mass.  On Saturday, 27th April at 6.30p.m.
  1. We thank Mr. Deepak D’Souza, Gurkar, Monthi Saibin Ward, Mrs. Sunitha Monteiro, Gurkarn, Sacred Heart Ward for arranging the coconut palms for the Procession. I also thank the Parish House keeping Staff for cleaning and arranging the Palms for the Procession.
  1. Confirmation Catechism for S.S.L.C., P.U.C. including Degree Students will continue on Monday and Tuesday (15th & 16th ) in the following week.  All the Students should report at 5.30p.m. to the Parish Hall.
  1. We thank Ward Gurkars/ Representatives who are helping the families to fill the survey forms. I remind once again all the Gurkars/ Representatives to take up the survey work in your respective ward & complete it by the first week of May 2019.
  1. Coming Thursday, namely Maundy Thursday, we require to Vote, to elect our Candidate to Lok Sabha Seat.  I request you to exercise your Franchise as citizens of our Country.  This is our duty before God and Country.  Kindly Vote and motivate others to Vote.
  1. We strongly encourage all the children to attend daily Mass during this Vacation.  Parents kindly encourage your children.
  1. Sunday Collection on 7th April is Rs. 48,440/-.   Thank you for your generosity.
