About Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM)

The best phase in anyone life is the Youth phase – It is a time where we have opportunities to explore lot of talents, know one another, give our best to the Church, Society and improvise on ourselves.  We note in the Gospel that Jesus also started his ministry when he was young at the age of 30.  So for us Youth, Jesus is our role model where we follow the footsteps of Jesus.

Young people are not only the future of the Church but also the very present.  To make this statement true, they must be guided in the right path. For this purpose and to use the youth for the betterment of the church and society in large, the Milagres Youth came into existence.

ICYM in Milagres, at present, have grown strong both in spiritual and extracurricular activities.  Our Parish Priest and Director Rev. Fr Joseph Lobo, Assistant Parish Priest and our asst. Director Rev. Fr. Anil Lobo are striving to give us lot of encouragement and boost to grow in faith. The present youth of Milagres actively take part in these activities organized by the parish as well as organize various activities for the parishioners. The association also encourages all youth of our Parish to take part in leadership building programme, improve interpersonal relationships and helps in personal development, thus helping them to give their best to the church and society. Here they are taught to be independent, responsible, hardworking, obedient, as well as kind, caring, and compassionate towards the neighbors.

The Milagres Youth members meet up on the first Sunday of every month at 9.30 a.m. The core committee members meet up two days prior to the meeting and decide an agenda for the same.  This is the most valuable time we spend together, where we learn to grow in total.

At present there are 50 youth in the Milagres Youth association; always welcoming new members.

We will always strive to help our Church to grow which will certainly help us to grow in faith as well as our personality development.
