A Liturgy seminar was conducted by Fr. Vijay Machado on Tuesday March 14th, 2023 at the Senate Hall for the parishioners of “Our Lady of Milagres Church”, Mangalore. The program began with a prayer.
Fr. Bonaventure Nazareth, the vibrant Parish Priest, introduced Fr Vijay to the parishioners and briefed the necessity to have this seminar.
Fr. Vijay through power point explained in detail the elements the importance, the type, the parts, the functions, the power of Liturgy and Liturgical actions.
He also explained the parts of the Mass, the Liturgical seasons, the color of Vestments and the benefits of Liturgical worship.
In addition Fr.Vijay gave some practical tips and guidelines to the choir to select hymns based on the theme of Gospel, to Lectors who read the Word of God and to Parish Liturgy Team about the preparation of petitions in Prayer of Faithful. The seminar provided the Milagreans a deep understanding on Liturgy.
The seminar ended with Angelus followed by vegetarian meal. More than 200 parishioners benefitted from this seminar.
